Budget Basics

Budgeting is a way of managing money. It allows you to be in control of your finances. Planning your projected Income and Expenses within a Fiscal Year (or calendar year) is an excellent way to manage your congregations anticipated receipts and spending. Budgeting helps to avoid any unpleasant surprises and plan for exciting events. In Rakefet, you can Budget by one of four Budget Setup Types. You should review the four Budget types (listed below and found in Setup-->Budget) to help you decide which is the best organizational tool for your congregation. How you organize your Budget in Rakefet will reflect how it is setup and how it reports.

The Four Budget Types:

· Enter budget amounts by account and print reports by account.
· Enter budget amounts by budget category and print reports by budget category.
· Enter budget amounts by account and print reports by category.
· Enter budget amounts by account and print reports by category subtotaled by account
